Pea Coat |

I love this coat! Back in the 60's I had a real vintage Navy Pea Coat from a military surplus store and that's what I wanted. I searched several websites and none seemed quite right (even the ones listed as "authentic"). With this coat, the style is right: slash pockets, no vent, quilted lining (not fleece!), and anchor buttons (a must). The material is the right weight and the collar is wide enough to turn up against the wind. The only difference is the buttons don't have that little raised rounded edge I remember from the vintage peas (a minor detail). So forget those expensive designer "interpretations", this is the real, made in the USA deal, not some Chinese knockoff (and no, I don't work for this company, I'm just a satisfied customer).

Ive been looking for a pea coat for a long time, generally turned off by those in stores: too short, bulky, low quality, etc. I stumbled across a link here while browsing an online forum giving praise to the product, so I emailed with some questions. I got a prompt and thorough response from Victoria; she helped me choose between the two coats, and suggested I get a 42T because I wear a 40L suit coat. (Fantastic customer service! More companies should be like this!) I picked the quilted coat because it has no vent on the back (I prefer this look;) whereas the satin-lined coat has a single vent. The coat is of fantastic quality: nice thick wool texture, the anchor buttons go all the way up (the lapels can be buttoned up for extra frigid days.) The color is very dark, darker than it appears in the photo, nearly black. The cut is fantastic, looks great on my thin frame. Perfect length too, falling just beneath my longer suit coats. Extremely warm too! I finally found my perfect pea coat!
